Restoring period details

Motivated by the desire to restore their Victorian home to its original beauty, Chris and Karen chose to replace their aluminium casement windows with traditional wooden sliding sash windows, featuring a period-looking sash horn.

We worked with them to ensure the windows met their  expectations with no compromise on performance. A traditional box sash design was initially specified, but after a thorough survey, we recommended a spiral balance design. This type of sliding sash utilises a spring balance concealed in the frame, resulting in a beautiful slimline finish.

“After speaking to a number of previous Timber Windows customers, we felt confident we were making the right choice of installer," says Karen. "The results are fantastic. Not only are the windows great quality, but the team that fitted them were professional, courteous and did a great job.”
